The memory market has been relatively quiet in the last year or, as no manufacturer managed to supply an all purpose memory chip; it was either low latency (rarely seen in 2003/2004) or high bandwidth (high latency). Users were begging for memory chips like the legendary Winbond BH-5 or Samsung TCB3 (back in DDR-333 days). Luckily, Samsung recently released its TCCD which people found to be a very good all-purpose ram, as it is capable of 2-2-2-5 at DDR-400. As far as I can recall, Samsung TCCD is the only memory module that can handle 2-2-2-5 at DDR-400 setting beside Winbond BH-5, under normal circumstances.

Thus, we get in touch with several memory manufacturers and hoping to get some samples based on the Samsung TCCD chip and other popular ones, in order to map out the capabilities of different chips.

In DDR Ram Guide III, we will also present the following information for each module where applicable:

Manufacturer Specification: (this is pretty self explanatory)
Rated Speed: We will list the memory's rated latency and speed based on the manufacturer's recommendation.
Voltage Range: The range of acceptable voltage defined by the manufacturer.
Memory Chip: The chip used in the production, as defined by the manufacturer.
Warranty: The module's warranty in New Zealand. The length of warranty may be different in other countries.

So, let us get down to business.

Note: We will be adding more memory modules in the table as we progress, in the mean time, please bear with us.
